(CBS) — In one of Chicago’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods, there is a group of people standing up to say: We choose to live here and we love it.
CBS 2’s Audrina Bigos reports.
It’s called Englewood Rising, and it’s all about repairing a reputation.
Our family has been living in Englewood for 65 years. We put up paper, feed those that are hungry and we have a community Garden. I love where I live and I’m not ashamed of it.
I lived in Englewood some years ago and I still visit family there often. I never had problems. I see wonderful progress in the neighborhood. New businesses, quiet streets, landscapes, building improvements, with things you can see and feel at peace. I was a teacher at Parker Elementary and loved it.
I live in engelwood, and I never heard of this organization
